None of these started as a campaign plank. Each one started as a real question from a Walnut Creek mom, followed by evidence, and then a plain idea about what should happen next.
Reading, math, science, strong curriculum implementation, and the teacher support that makes good curriculum actually work.

Teach children how to reason before asking technology to reason for them. No hype, no panic — a parent's clear-eyed look at AI in the classroom. I lead teams that build with AI every day in biotech, which is exactly why I want kids learning to think first.
“How do we teach kids to think for themselves when AI can give them an answer in seconds?”
Make budgets, ballot measures, policies, and major district decisions understandable to busy people who are not in the education space — not just to people who already know the system.

Mental health, movement, attention, support, and the conditions children need in order to learn — because academics don't happen in a vacuum.

Every student in Walnut Creek deserves a strong education, no matter which school they attend or what they arrive with. That starts with looking honestly at where outcomes differ and saying so out loud.

Honest governance
A school board governs in the real world, where needs compete, funding changes and implementation matters. My responsibility would be to examine the evidence, understand the operational consequences, make the trade-offs visible and remain accountable for the decisions I make.
