One of the things that has always made Walnut Creek special is that we take care of our public schools. When we do that well, the whole town stays stronger and steadier — for every family, every neighbor, and every generation.

I spend most of my time trying to understand the real problem before deciding what to do next.

That careful, objective, detailed way of looking at things is how I try to turn complex situations into clear, practical solutions.

Why I'm running

Strong schools are something we build together.

Walnut Creek has strong schools because generations of teachers, families, community members, and school leaders have invested in them. I'm running to build on that strength and keep asking what comes next.

As a parent, I keep coming back to a few questions:

Are we measuring success against the right benchmarks?
How can we better support teachers?
Does every child have the strong reading and math foundation they need?
How do we prepare kids to think critically in the age of AI?

Throughout my career, I've learned how to take complicated problems, ask the right questions, dig into the evidence, and make the answers understandable. I've started doing the same with our schools, because families and community members should be able to understand how we're doing, what we're measuring, and where we can keep improving.

A habit of asking, and checking.
